1 Using a wooden spoon, combine the boiling water and maize meal in a large jug. Pour the mixture into a medium-sized pot and add the milk, sugar, Hinds Cinnamon, vanilla essence, butter and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously until smooth. Reduce the heat, cover the pot with a lid and simmer on low for 20 - 30 minutes, stirring every 5 - 10 minutes to stop lumps from forming. Add more boiling water a little at a time if needed.
2 Spoon the porridge into bowls and top with oranges slices. Add a pinch of Hinds Cinnamon.
You can add any fruit you like such as bananas or strawberries. You can also serve with honey, or maple syrup or peanut butter.
